The desire to give back is what draws many people to JWSF, and our programs give members hands-on ways to do it. Among the most fulfilling are our visits with residents of Kuakini Home, where members can thank people who have given so much to our community. The Japanese expression okage sama de, “I am who I am because of you,” captures that sentiment.
To support community efforts in caring for the elderly, nurture the bond between members and the residents and continue visibility as a supporter of women and aging.
Adopt-A-Mom is an annual event on the 3rd Sunday of May where JWSF members celebrate the elderly women of Hawaii who deserve to be cherished and appreciated for invaluable role as a mother.
