Welcome to Japanese Women's Society Foundation ("we," "our," or "us). By accessing of using our website https://jwsf.org (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Site.

About Our Organization

Japanese Women's Society Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Hawaii with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to promote culture and provide education and quality services to the community by responding to the changing needs of society. Our Tax ID/EIN is 99-0354737.

Use of Our Website

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Site or servers

  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Site. If you are under 18, you have parental or guardian consent to make donations or register for events.

Donations

Making Donations

When you make a donation through our Site, you agree to the following:

  • Processing: All donations are processed securely through PayPal. We do not store your payment card information.
  • Authorization: You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
  • Tax-Deductibility: Donations to Japanese Women's Society Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your donation for tax purposes.
  • Use of Funds: All donations support our mission and programs. While you may designate your donation for a specific purpose, we reserve the right to use donations where they are most needed if the designated purpose becomes impossible or impractical.

Donation Policy

  • Non-Refundable: All donations are final and non-refundable except in cases of processing error or duplicate transactions.
  • Recurring Donations: If you set up a recurring donation, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the specified intervals until you cancel. You may cancel recurring donations at any time by contacting us.
  • Minimum Amounts: We may set minimum donation amounts for processing efficiency.

Requesting a Refund

In exceptional circumstances, if you believe you are entitled to a refund due to a processing error or duplicate charge, please contact us within 30 days at payments@jwsf.org with your donation details.

Event Registration

Registration Terms

When you register for an event, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Attend the event in accordance with our code of conduct and event-specific rules
  • Be responsible for any minors you register or bring to the event

Event Cancellation by You

  • Cancellation Policy: 50% refund if cancelled 7-13 days before the event
  • How to Cancel: To cancel your registration, contact us at programs@jwsf.org with your registration details

Event Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify any event due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, low enrollment, speaker availability, etc.). In such cases:

  • We will provide as much notice as possible
  • You will receive a full refund for cancelled events
  • For rescheduled events, your registration will transfer to the new date or you may request a refund

Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

By attending our events, you acknowledge that:

  • Participation in events may involve inherent risks
  • You assume all risks associated with participation
  • You release Japanese Women's Society Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers from any liability for injury, loss or damage during the event, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct

Photography and Recording

By attending our events, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded, and you grant us permission to use such images for promotional purposes.

Contact Form

Information submitted through our contact form will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to inquiries but do not guarantee response times. Do not include sensitive personal information (Social Security numbers, credit card details, etc.) in contact form submissions.

Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Japanese Women's Society Foundation or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

  3. Jurisdiction: Any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in United States of America, Hawaii

You agree to waive any right to a jury trial.
